Violet was in terrible shape when she was rescued from the street by the local pound. Volunteer rescuer Brianna couldn't ignore her distress after seeing her face on social media. She decided to take her home to nurse her back to health and show her what it feels like to be loved.
Violet was found wandering the streets of Texas in poor condition. Initially placed in a shelter, she later ended up in the care of Brianna Magana, who was determined to get her back on her feet. Her efforts began to pay off when she saw her transform in her care.
The poor dog had come a long way. She was very weak at the time of her rescue and certainly wouldn't have survived long alone in those conditions. Rescued by Montgomery Animal Control, she was placed in the shelter, but needed much more attention. That's when Brianna stepped in.
A sad story
What immediately struck the benefactress was the four-legged friend's purple coat. It appeared to have been dyed. While it's impossible to know its history, Brianna had a theory. As Newsweek explained, some breeders use a purple treatment to treat wounds in their livestock, some with varying degrees of success. It's possible this product was used on her.
This discoloration was unfortunately the least of the dog's worries. She had to be hospitalized for a few days to recover after undergoing various treatments. She now takes medication and must be bathed with various products to treat and soothe her skin.
As the days passed, the four-legged friend began to recover in Brianna's care. She also reported that her purple coloration was beginning to fade thanks to the medicated baths. Full of hope, the rescuer is already thinking about her protégé's future by evoking her adoption. This logical next step will mark the end of the difficult chapter in her life and the beginning of a new story.
